This blog is my attempt to chronicle my adventures in sampling as many different possible variations of the classic chocolate and vanilla whoopie pie.

Daisy's Chocolate Whoopie Pie - Clifton NJ

I picked this up mid-December 2024, I believe from Elia's Country Store on Route 62 in Wilmington MA. The buns were very soft and the white frosting was very cake light. This tasted exactly like a birthday cake.

The best so far! These were amazing. The perfect blend with just the right amount of sugar and the perfect cake texture. These were given to me by my soon-to-be brother-in-law John who had overheard me talking about hearing that Labadie's were the best.

Hard buns. Did not take too well to freezing and thawing. I'm not sure if it is because the one I bought was stale or if it was due to the makeup of the frosting. Upon thawing, frosting was dry and crumbly. Has a high sugar content in the frosting. I will try again but will eat fresh the next time.

Classic Wicked Whoopie Pie - Freeport ME

Huge surprise here. When I first picked it up and held it in my hand, major disappointment set in when I noticed the buns were on the softer, cake-like side. I picked up 2 and went back to my Hotel disappointed. When I opened it up and smelled it, the aroma was outstanding. My intent was to eat half and put the other half away, but the flavor was so vibrant and intense that I ate it all, and didn't feel well afterwards from the sugar overdose. This is a really good whoopie pie. I only wish the buns were harder and there were less sugar in the filling. 9/10 and highly recommend.
